What Does A Member Do?

They help set institutional policies; they focus on strategic planning; support fiscal management and leadership oversight; and help raise funds for the school.

Why Would I Want To Be A Board Member?

Board members are vital to the success of the Lands End School.  They help the school meet its goal to “provide a high quality comprehensive early childhood education program for infant, toddler and preschool children of the employees of the SFVAMC and for the children of other members of the community.”

Who Is Eligible To Be A Board Member?

Individuals with the shared goal of sustaining and enhancing The Lands End School as a thriving and supportive school for those we serve.  School Parents, grandparents and alumni are highly encouraged to apply, as well as community members who have a vested interest in the continued success of TLES and strengthening our relationship with the SFVAMC and surrounding neighborhood.

How Many Board Members Are There?

The Board is comprised of a Board President, Board Vice President, Board Treasurer, Board Secretary, Family Liaison, Teacher/Staff Liaison, and 3 to 7 other members.

How Long Does A Member Serve?

Members serve a two-year term.

When And Where Do A Board Members Meet?

Members meet at the school every 3RD Tuesday of the month and the meetings typically begin at 5:30pm and end at 7pm (unless changes are made).  Dinner and childcare is provided.
